Field Cases

Natural gas line — corrosion under insulation

Field Reality

A buried, insulated natural gas line was leaking beneath its insulation. The leak was audible before construction began. The line sat in an excavated, constrained space, so the working geometry was decided by the excavation rather than by preference.

Original Field audio. The leak is audible — that sound is part of the evidence, so it is preserved. Only the minimum segment needed to establish the existing condition is shown.

Existing condition: the line as the excavation exposed it.

Resulting ISB

An ISB was constructed around the affected run inside the excavation, then given an armoured outer protection layer for buried service.

Case boundary

This Case records one unique Field Reality. It is not a construction instruction and not a template. A Solution developed for one Field must not be copied into another Field without new DendroSeal Understanding.
